Christian Nationalism Strikes Back Clifford Cook

If you hoped that the struggle against Christian Nationalism was won with the stifling of the Republican Red Wave in the 2022 midterm elections, news this week should bring you back down to earth.

After a long effort to count all the votes in Colorado’s third congressional district, Christian Nationalist politician Lauren Boebert has narrowly won re-election to the United States House of Representatives. Boebert does not represent Colorado Springs, but the border of her congressional district is just a few miles to the south and west of the city. It was in Colorado Springs this weekend that a man carrying two guns walked into a gay club and began shooting. He murdered five people and injured twenty five others before he was overpowered by the patrons of the Q Club.

For the last two years, Lauren Boebert has been promoting extremist gun culture, hatred of LGBTQ Americans, and Christian Nationalism. Now, in response to the mass gun violence against LGBTQ citizens in Colorado City, Representative Boebert is unwilling to do anything but offer prayers, prayers from her anti-gay pro-gun Christian Nationalist cult of violence. Prayers from a religion that worships guns and pushes hatred of queer Americans are of no help to anyone. They’re an insult.

In this week’s episode, we hear about the latest hatred from Christian Nationalist extremists Vincent James and Nick Fuentes. We witness the ongoing false prophecies of Christian Nationalist Julie Green, and we focus on the importance of attending to local politics during the two years before the next presidential and congressional elections.
