We can fall into the trap of supposing that Christian Nationalism is only there when the people who express it are shouting wildly out in the streets. In fact, Christian Nationalism is expressed both by raving fanatics and by political insiders who manifest the extremist ideology in subtle ways.

Connecting these different manifestations of Christian Nationalism is a consistent ideology, a political religious movement that seeks to end American democracy and replace it with a Christian dictatorship that forces Christianity on everyone.
